The Japanese love their sake, an alcoholic drink made from fermented rice. So after a night spent drinking bottles at an izakaya, soothe your morning hangover with shijimi, a kind of miso soup. Shijimi clams have an amino acid that removes liver toxins.
Recipe
Ingredients

3 cups water
1 pouch dashi stock
3 tbs. miso paste (red or white)
1/2 cup of shijimi
2 tbs. of spring onions

Instructions

Fill a pot with water and drop in a dashi pouch (made of dried fish, bonito and konbu). Bring the water to a boil; then simmer it for 10 minutes and remove the pouch. Add the shijimi clams, then add miso paste and top with spring onions.
