Two people traveling through Chester, Virginia, thought they saw a falling star, but the object was blue-green in color, and its descent seemed too slow and controlled to be a meteor or other space junk, and there was no light trail behind it. The object was visible for about 5 seconds before disappearing near the earth’s surface.

An Ocean City, Maryland, resident returned to their waterfront condo just after midnight and noticed a disc hovering over the ocean. Travelers in Hockinson, Washington, thought they were seeing a cell phone tower when they noticed a bright light to the east, but the light began moving towards them. A woman and her daughters left their Caryville, Tennessee, home and realized there was something shining a light down onto the mountains behind their home. A driver outside St. Louis, Missouri, spotted a triangular craft with red, blue, and green lights at each point as they drove south on I70. The craft, which also had a bright white light in the center, also moved slowly through the sky at an estimated altitude of 500-700 feet.

Two people driving south on Highway 22 in Cremona, Alberta, Canada, saw what they thought was the handle to the big dipper constellation. Late on New Year’s Eve, two people walking to the house next door saw a large, glowing orange ball hovering in the sky near Ashland, New Hampshire.
